Officials said the UK and Interpol had informed them in August 2018 itself that Nirav Modi was in the country but his exact location was not known. Indian agencies had also learnt that he was frequently travelling to European countries, and was meeting his lawyers to discuss legal proceedings against him in India, UK and the US.
